It began in a hospital room. Lying in bed as a first-time mama — overjoyed, holding a brand-new baby girl — tears streamed down at the thought of the new moms out there who simply aren’t prepared, don’t have what they need, and are frightened to go home with this incredible new responsibility. As overwhelming as the happiness was, the heartache for others was every bit as strong.

“I knew it was something the Lord laid on my heart — and I wasn’t going to just move on or forget about it.”

The answer came while praying: reach out to a local hospital and ask whether they welcome help for the mothers in their care. They did. So the very first tote bags were gathered and carried to Hanover Hospital, each one filled with the basics a mother needs to bring her newborn home and get started on the right foot.

The heart of it has stayed simple ever since — gentle, practical bags of love that ease a new mama’s mind just a little, and remind both mother and child that they are seen, cherished, and deeply loved. It is a quiet, joyful way of partnering with the Lord in blessing His babies.
